Q1 of 2025 has been full of opportunity and expansion. From growing my consultancy (Green Quotient Solutions, LLC), to hosting, learning, and sharing across powerful spaces – I want to take a moment to reflect on some highlights and the insights they’ve left me with:
1️⃣ At GreenBiz 25, I had the honor of hosting a roundtable on one of my favorite subjects: the role of education as the foundation of a sustainable future.
Research shows that early learning and exposure shapes the professional paths of children. Yet, in dozens of conversations I had with passionate sustainability professionals, few said they were exposed to sustainability science before college…
Their stories stuck with me because our race to carbon neutrality will not be won solely through the implementation of more green technologies and systems, but rather in tandem with a movement where everyone has access to the knowledge, tools, and opportunities to participate in a greener future.
2️⃣ I traveled to Georgetown, Guyana for the 2025 Guyana Energy Conference & Supply Chain Expo, themed “Connecting the Dots: Integrating the Future.”
As a Guyanese-American, it was a full-circle moment to speak from both a professional and diasporic lens on what a modern energy mix can look like for a developing nation. I joined conversations on how oil & gas (when handled responsibly) can build economic resilience, and how renewables should be layered in for long-term security.
It also gave me space to highlight how sustainability is already deeply embedded in Guyanese culture and everyday practices, which is something communities across the globe can observe and build on.
3️⃣ I kicked off Women’s History Month at an International Women’s Day Forum in Guyana’s Essequibo region.
The theme? (Un)Coincidentally… “Investing in Women for a Sustainable Tomorrow.”
Hearing from women across the country and the Caribbean on leadership, entrepreneurialism, and inclusion reminded me why I value sustainability beyond its ecological implications.
To achieve a “sustainable tomorrow”, there must be collaboration, equitable investment, and diverse perspectives that include women, youth, and communities historically left out of the room.
These moments affirmed what I already know to be true and what I’ll keep pushing forward through my work with Green Quotient Solutions:
It matters who we invest in and not just what.
Here’s to carrying Q1 momentum into Q2! 🙂
